JORDAN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TRUST

If they can do it, so can you!

The Jordan Youth Development Trust was registered as a charity early in 2008. Two of the trustees are Terry McMillan, a Southwark based businessman and his brother, Michael McMillan, an internationally renowned writer, curator and published author.

Terry and Michael grew up in Hackney as part of a supportive and encouraging family atmosphere – a key ingredient in the success they have both achieved. It is very much their belief that all young people have the potential to flourish if given the right grounding in life.

The aim of the Jordan Youth Development Trust is to provide this grounding for young people who might not otherwise enjoy that benefit. It does this by providing positive role models for young people, recognising latent talent and nurturing potential within young people.

Using the attractions of the music, sport and fashion industries the Trust places young people alongside successful role models who grew up without many of the privileges others take for granted. Current projects involve a search for promising young musicians and artists in the boroughs of Hackney and Southwark as well as the creation of a clothing brand that will provide a business model for young people to work within.
